Turnitin

Turnitin Feedback Studio is a software to check submitted files for unoriginal content. When a text file is submitted to Turnitin, this software compares it to text in its database of publications, student papers, websites and other online material, and generates a similarity report. A similarity report is a file containing details about matching or highly similar text discovered by Turnitin.

The use of the software is optional for professor and researchers, but it is strongly recommended to check one’s own work before submitting it for publication. IMT professors, researchers and students can request an account by sending an email to lib@imtlucca.it.

The use of Turnitin is mandatory for doctoral theses. You can learn more about plagiarism checks on PhD theses and Turnitin here.
